OUR VISION

Sankofa Literary Society is a platform for book lovers, authors and business people to share their talents, goals, thoughts and  approaches to life with each other, producing a informative community that creates awareness and enhances solidarity. Sankofa  Literary Society educates people of color across the nation about what is going on in the business and literary world. We want to help uplift  the frequently under represented  small business owners, writers and published authors in our society, exposing them to the waiting consumers in the best light  possible.

The Sankofa Literary Society is unique in that we offer authors a free place to showcase  their ideas, philosophies, opinions, and books  all for little or no expense. The books we present to you are for young adults, our elders,  educators, ministers, counselors and others  outside of this unique world of African American literature.  The Sankofa Literary Society's  editorial team and reviewers  carefully chooses each book  or  CD we promote, as they strive to offer the readers, visitors, and gift seekers a diverse insight and understanding into African American world of   literature  and the arts. Only the best for the best is our motto.

We look to promote an author's work, break  barriers that have previously limited the independent writer, asserting new perspectives on Black literature, and expanding on current ones. We need your voice to help us evolve into the online community  we strive  to be. We are here to serve the needs of our readers, book clubs, authors, and the business people who sponsor us. How to Become a Member of the Sankofa Literary Society

The SLS offers new and independent authors a place to showcase their work without the  competition or distraction often times caused by bestselling or well known authors being promoted in the same space. This site is to showcase all new authors or authors from small presses. Becoming a member of the SLS gives you added exposure and constant information that will help you become tomorrow's next best selling author!

Your book will be promoted for you for very little expense and you are now available to special promotions offered by EDC Creations. Such as the free podcast promotions in the monthly Literary Magazine. All sites created by EDC Creations are syndicated out to a multitude of other newsletters, blog directories, and book discussion groups. Your books will gain free added exposure daily just by being listed on the SLS. Ella Curry promotes all of her sites to the fullest all over the Internet! So for the cost of 2 books and a little of your time, the exposure is priceless and the networking associations are unbeatable.


  • Authors donate 2 of their books--frontlist is preferable; backlist okay

  • Authors agree to take part in 2 Sankofa Literary Book Chats via tele-conference

  • Authors agree to announce to their email list their  new page at the SLS

  • Authors and Businesses are asked to take part in 2 Sankofa Literary Business Conferences (via the Internet) per year; also to share a written interview about your company's beginnings on the SLS Book Club Center site; we want to use your written interviews to encourage others to live their dreams

This site is our listserv; it is also where we list free information for our readers. This forum is the place any of our visitors can join, in order  to post their comments about an article found on our site.  When we print our list to share with book clubs, this is the list we give out. So please visit the site and add your name to the group. Please post at least one time to let everyone know you are an author and give them your contact information. There is also a list on the site called "Available for Meet and Greets", be sure to add your name to the list.

The power of  "Write With Vision Promotions & Workshops"  is its ability to gain exposure and promote its writers. At present, we have twenty-one general subjects covering a very wide range of subjects. Each of these general subjects has an even wider list of subtopics to choose from. This means that, as a writer, you are assured of finding a home for your articles. As a author, it means that you will find the material you are looking for. The key to the process begins with quality writers and the volume and quality of article submissions that come in each day. This means that there is always fresh and original content to meet the needs of any reader.

This will in turn mean more publishers coming to "Write With Vision Promotions & Workshops" to find their material and in turn greater exposure for the writers.This is a win-win situation for both the publishers and the writers. For the writers, you will find that there is no cost to you to set up an account or to submit your articles. After creating an account, you will find that with each article you submit, your website will gain exposure and additional links to it. Please join the group and start posting!
