Product Description

A mysterious healer with ancient secrets.
A deadly game of deception and betrayal.
A frantic hunt for truth and love.

They’re back! The women of the most powerful city in the world, Washington D.C., are sassier than ever. Lindy is no longer an innocent young girl, but a vivacious woman who has one thing on her mind. Betty won’t let her marriage or the marriage of her lover keep them a part. Diana destroys anything and anyone who stands in her way to the top. Margaret, Lindy’s mother, flips between being the loving first lady of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and being the scalawag preaching her own brand of Christianity.  Grace Perry, the newcomer to the pack, snoops around finding out the dirt on everyone while hiding her own deep dark past. And lastly, the mysterious healer with her ancient healing secrets holds the key that will either make or break them. And if you don’t think that is enough wait until you find out what the men are up too!

Life is Never as It Seems Begins:

Full of spirituality and the supernatural, this sometimes funny, thought-provoking story that takes place in the hot steamy streets of Washington, D.C., will take the reader on a whirl-wind journey through the nitty-gritty realism of life and survival. Linda Johnson Lee or Lindy as family and friends know her comes from a family of preachers. Her grandfather, Reverend Perlie Johnson, like his father before him, is minister to a Baptist congregation, which reveres him and his daughter Margaret as godly and righteous people. It is 1967 in America, and the streets and the media are filled with turmoil. Rev intends to keep his daughter, granddaughter and congregation out of harm's way and obedient to their Christian faith.

Nevertheless, Lindy also comes from a family of secrets. Rev’s wife, was banished from the church and from his life because she was accused of trafficking in Satanism. Amanda’s “sin” was her ability to heal and to teach others about the occult practices and the ancient teachings. Lindy possesses that same power. Revealing this to her mother Margaret and grandfather when she was a little girl, she was told in on uncertain terms that her supernatural abilities were tricks of Satan trying to get her to stray from the Christian way. She had to repent her sins and ask God to take this wickedness out of her. But the abilities only got stronger as Lindy approached young adulthood. As if Lindy’s life weren’t complicated enough by all this, she is involved with Nick, a promising young artist who has his own demons. Lindy’s only salvation seemed to be the Awakeners, a group of trans-religionist seekers who are searching for the truth about the meaning of the universe and their own place in the cosmic scheme of things. But, Lindy soon finds out that life is not as it seems.

It's Not Over Yet  is the sequel to Life Is Never as It Seems, bringing the readers up-todate on what is going on with the main chacters 20 years later!
